New Feature–Recipe Ratings

[ratings]

I installed a plugin that will allow me (and you) to rate the recipes I post. It’s simple–just choose the number of stars you think a recipe deserves, the rating will refresh, then it will display. Feel free to test it out on this post.

Before I add this to all the posts, I wanted to see if anyone notices any problems. I thought the page was loading slowly, but my Internet connection at home is all messed up. Let me know if you find any issues with it!

That is a really neat feature. This page loaded perfectly fine for me.

Cool feature! But… I can’t help but notice that every time you get a new rating, this post shows up as new in my Bloglines. (Yes, I do nothing all day besides watch my Bloglines. Busted.) Technically, this would be a Bloglines failing, as it doesn’t know the difference between a new entry and an updated feature, but just thought I’d point it out since you asked for feedback.

Still though — great idea. Recipe reviews are the key feature missing from most food sites, IMHO.

Deb, I did notice that–it updates the feed everytime someone rates. But there is a feature in bloglines that will allow you to not show updated posts, only new ones. As of right now, selecting that might be the only solution. I posted about the problem on the WordPress board to see if anyone has an alternative solution. I’ll keep ya posted!
